RACHEL TESSMER
Horseback riding during Girl Scout camp at age 12, in her hometown
of Macomb Township, Michigan, hooked Rachel for life! In order to continue riding and taking lessons while growing up, Rachel worked at a small farm and volunteered weekends for the farm’s therapeutic program as a back rider and side walker.
Rachel’s many years of teaching experience began at age 17 when she became Assistant Instructor, helping teach Girl Scout troops,
summer camps and general beginner lessons. By 18 she became a full time instructor, traveling to schooling shows with students, running camps as well as continued involvement with the therapeutic program. After graduating with a degree in Horse Management from MSU, Rachel accepted the position of teaching the
CVF riding school, giving her the opportunity to share her passion with children, as well as continue advancing her own personal riding career. When not at the barn Rachel loves to draw, paint and dabble in photography or be outdoors - riding bikes, running, camping, hiking etc.
